5th term Bukit Batok East Community Club Youth Executive Committee (YEC)Biennual Gernal Meeting (BGM) was held in Bukit Batok East Community Club at Hall 1 on 20th August 2011 follow by a trip to Universal Studio @ Resort World Sentosa.

Bukit Batok East Youth Execuitve Committee would like to thank our Guest-of-Honour, Mr. Ng Cheng Cho (BBM), Chairman of Bukit Batok East Community Club Management Committee (CCMC) and all those who have taken time off on their busy schedule to come and witness the BGM as well as joining them for the tour to Universal Studio @ Resort World Sentosa.

BBE Toh Guan View RC Fun Walk - National Day Observance Ceremony cum Residents Day - 09 August 2011

Mdm Halimah Yacob, MOS for MCYS, MP for Jurong GRC and Adviser to Jurong GRC GROs attended a Fun Walk with Toh Guan residents on 9/8/2011. She thereafter attended the National Day Observance Ceremony cum Residents Day. She mingled and interacted with the residents.

BBE Facebook Photo Contest

To acknowledge the active support of our facebook friends, Bukit Batok East New Media Champion will organise a monthly mini photo contest for all friends.

Friends are welcomed to post your photos taken during our community events to our facebook page.

Starting from August, a monthly winner will be picked and awarded with a small gift from BBE NMC.A Grand Contest will also be organised on September 2012 for the monthly winner (12 winners).

So start to post your event photos now and you might be the winner for the month.

BBE National Day Variety Show 2011 - 6 August 2011 Saturday

Over a thousand residents gathered to watch the BBE National Day Variety Show performance. It is a timely occasion to appreciate the volunteers for contributing their time and talents towards grassroots work, thus Mdm Halimah also presented them with the long service awards.

Besides having entertainers crooning their favourite songs, residents also had great fun singing a number of National Day songs like “Stand up for Singapore”. Indeed, these old National Day songs do resonate in their hearts. Mr Tharman also joined in the fun singing our National day songs.

We would like to thank all the residents who joined in the celebration and have made that evening a special one.

Majulah Singapura: The BBE Heartbeat - 6 August 2011 Saturday

Everybody couldn’t wait to catch a glimpse of the BBE GIANT FLAG! Standing tall with 4,200 well wishes from the BBE community, the Giant Flag represented the hopes and dreams of the residents for the nation. It was a moment to remember as the residents, in their various contingents, came together to sing the National Anthem and recite the National Pledge.
A tradition led by the Yusof Ishak Secondary School Parade Contingent, our enthusiastic BBE contingents, represented by the various RCs, NCs, & Committees, happily march passed GOH Mdm Halimah Yacob, Minister of State, MCYS & MP for Jurong GRC and cheered wholeheartedly as they march passed the Giant Flag!

Bukit Batok East: Giant National Flag - 6 August 2011 Saturday

Bukit Batok East celebrated this year's National Day in a very different way. Besides the normal Observance Ceremony and Cultural Show for the residents, they have also invited all residents to pen down their wishes for the nation. All collected wishing cards are then put together to form a Giant National Flag and used as the Back Drop for the National Day Observance Ceremony.

The preparation for the Giant Flag started since early June, whereby residents who attended our community events are being invited to pen down their wishes and take a photo while holding a specially designed board with words such as 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE' and 'LOVE SG' printed on them.

Two days before the Observance Ceremony, volunteers started to paste all 4200 pieces of wishing cards into 60 pieces of vanguard sheet. Then, on 6 August 2011, all these vanguard sheets are being put together on a giant board to form the giant National Flag.
