Give Your Support To Bukit Batok East Community On "Home" Contest
It was a heart-warming moment as the Bukit Batok East YEC put their hands together to help clean and paint Mdm Lim Kim Keow’s flat . Mdm Lim is getting on in years and unable to clean the flat on her own. After learning about this, the BBE YEC pulled their resources together and with the help of BBE supportive GRLs, they painted the flat to give it a brand new look to welcome the New Year. It was all smiles when Mdm Halimah came to visit Mdm Lim and her newly painted home the next day.

Guest of Honour Mdm Halimah Yacob, MP for Jurong GRC and Adviser to Jurong GRC GROs highlighted the importance of recycling and urged BBE residents to sustain these recycling efforts so as to save the environment.

Supported by Jurong Town Council, R.I.C.H. will take place on every Sunday, from 27 March 2011 to 18 September 2011. To participate in the recycling exercise, residents simply bring their recyclables to the existing Cash for Trash Station located at Block 276 Bukit Batok East Ave 4 on every Sunday, from 7.30am to 12noon. A simple passbook known as the R.I.C.H. card will be issued to the residents so that they can record and keep track on the total amount of recyclables they have brought in for recycling.
To help sustain the recycling efforts, cash prizes and vouchers worth up to S$300 will be awarded to R.I.C.H. participants who have accumulated the highest tonnage of recyclable items during the contest period.
It is important to save our environment.
