One Community Walk 2011@ Bukit Batok East - 24 July 2011 Sunday
The One Community Walk is an unprecedented nation-wide mass walking event engaging more than 85,000 residents from all the constituencies in Singapore.
At Bukit Batok East Constituency, over 1000 resident’s gathered in the early hours of the Sunday morning (before 7.00am) to participate in the fitness activity. The event was kicked off with a lively and humorous warm up exercise. Mr Richard Ong BBM, in the absence of our Adviser Mdm Halimah Yacob (away on official duty), addressed the participants with his welcoming speech and then flagged off the participants for the 2.5 km walk around the scenic Bukit Batok East estate.
The participants on returning back to the U-Square, enjoyed the rest of the morning in the mini carnival stalls and by witnessing on stage a series of martial arts demonstrations by the BBE Health Qigong group, BBE Silat group and BBE Aikido group. The event ended with lots of lucky draw prizes been presented to the lucky participants.
The event was co-organised by BBE Grassroots Organisation and Community Sports Club.
