Mobile Health Screening for the Needy Elderly - 9 & 16 December 2012 Sunday
This event is spearheaded by a year 2 NUS Student with support from National Heart Centre registered nurses and GROs volunteers.
The programme aims to promote the early detection of common chronic diseases, cognitive and psychological changes for seniors 50 years and above, so that early intervention can help them age healthily and happily. In addition, it will also look at improving the living condition of the elderly.
The volunteers equipped with their medical kit and health questionnaires visited 40 immobile needy elderly at their home. Through the visit, the volunteers had a better understanding of the elderly health and living condition.
The team will be scheduling another date with the other needy elderly residents to provide them with these services.
