BBE ZONE 3 RC LUNAR NEW YEAR APPRECIATION PARTY -
Zone 3 RC has a Lunar New Year Appreciation Party at Blk 266 pavilion on 15 Jan. About 200 residents came for a night of yummy food, bingo game and karaoke singing. It was a cosy gathering as families and friends mingled together and soaked in the festive mood.

Pongalo Pongal @ BBE - 15 January 2012 Sunday
On 15 Jan 2012 was where our indian residents celebrates Pongal also known as the month of harvesting. This day was also the day where Bukit Batok East IAEC jointly organised with Zone 2 RC Pongalo Pongal @ BBE with the theme "Care for the Elderly". Fifty senior residents from Bukit Batok East and Toh Guan were specially invited to the event. They were treated with great hospitality, food were served and goodie bags were specially prepared for them. Mdm Halimah Yacoob being the Guest Of Honour were there to welcome the senior citizens. There were tice cooking demo.The residents were entertained by multi racial singing and dancing performances.Bukit Batok East Indian Classical Vocal Music students lead by Mdm Gayathri made their first performance infront of an audience together with our guest of honour. Wishing all our Indian residents a Happy Pongal Day.

WANTED: For loanshark harassment
Police are looking for a slim built man with short hair and spectacles to assist with investigations into a case of loanshark harassment reported at Bukit Batok Street 25 on 10 Jan 2012.
He was last seen wearing a dark-coloured round-neck T-shirt with pictures printed in front, dark-coloured Bermuda and was carrying a black sling bag.
Anyone with information on this man is requested to call the Police Hotline at 1800-2550000. All information will be kept strictly confidential.

BBE Hoover Park NC Chinese New Year Shopping Spree - 14 February 2012 Saturday
On the 14 January 2012, Saturday , a group of Hoover Park residents head off to a 1 day Chinese New Year shopping spree. They visited places like woodland terrence, china town, jalan kayu ,jurong fishery port and jurong nursery.
Residents came home with many bags of good deal goodies.
They enjoyed themselves very much and look forward tohave this shopping trip next year.

BBE Family Hong Bao Lantern Making Contest - 8 January 2012 Sunday
A special event, which was organised to promote family bonding and celebrate the Lunar New Year, was held on 08 January 2012 at the Multi-purpose Hall located at Bukit Batok East CC. Through this event, the organiser hope to provide opportunity for the family to work on small project together. Teams were made up of people from 2generations and they need to use their creativity to make a lantern using Hong Bao ( Red Packet) within the given time.
This contest was jointly organised by BBE Family Life Champion , Volunteer Induction Programme (VIP) Team & Bukit Batok East Grassroots Organisation and supported by South West CDC.

Scholarships/EMB & CCC Bursary Presentations - 08 January 2012 Sunday
Grassroots Adviser Mdm Halimah Yacob also presented some 700 scholarships and bursaries to our young Bukit Batok East residents. It was a happy occasion with the recipients’ family members attending together giving strong support and encouragement to these hardworking students. We wish all the students success in their pursuit of academic success.

BBE Hongbaos Presentations - 08 January 2012 Sunday
Grassroots Adviser Mdm Halimah Yacob presented some 1,800 hongbaos to elderly residents in Bukit Batok East & Toh Guan estates on Sunday, 8 January 2012. She personally hand the hongbaos into each recipient’s hands wishing them good health and a happy new year.
To better take care of elderly residents, she had instructed the Organising Committee to speed up the process in registration. A new approach was adopted and the process was shortened considerably. The committee is gathering ground feedback to further improve and ensure convenience to our elders.

BBE Countdown Party - 31 December 2011 Saturday
Countdown Party @ Bukit Batok East was successfully held on Saturday 31st December 2011. There was an overwhelming turnout of more than 1500 Bukit Batok East residents. Young families, new citizens, PRs and local youths of different cultures enthusiastically supported the Countdown party, and it was a vibrant and inspirational moment for all involved in the celebrations.
Recognizing the need to build and to bond the community, many of the volunteers called their neighbours and new citizen friends along, sharing their values and traditions with them, and even encouraging them to take the initiative to help in the event.
The event was spearheaded by BBE Youth Executive Committee (YEC) and supported by BBE GROs

BBE Christmas @ Heartland - 18 December 2011 Sunday
Christmas @ Heartland on 18 Dec 2011 is an event where all residents from all races and age group came together to celebrate Christmas at the same time have an understanding about the celebration of Christmas itself. There were stage drama performances, live band, and stage games for our New Citizens and New PRs. The New Citizens and PRs were invited to join this special event where they also get to mingle with our local residents to built community bonding. Mdm Halimah Yacoob was the guest of honor for the event. The event ends with a harmonious carols from the church group where residents sing along together with them. It was indeed a celebration to remember.

BBE Community Sing A Long Session - 1 January 2012 Sunday
More than 400 residents sang and danced on the first day of 2012 at Bukit Batok East.
They were at the hard court of Blk 235 Bukit Batok East Ave 3, at the Sing-a-long Session, organised by Bukit Batok East Community Club Management Committee and Zone 1Residents’ Committee. They sang Mandarin oldies and Chinese New Year songs. Many also danced to the beat of Cha-Cha and rumba.
The Guest of Honour, Adviser to Jurong GRC Grassroots Organisations, Mdm Halimah Yacob who is the Minister of State, MCYS and MP for Jurong GRC joined residents and grassroots leaders to sing Beautiful Sunday.
