On 15 Jan 2012 was where our indian residents celebrates Pongal also known as the month of harvesting. This day was also the day where Bukit Batok East IAEC jointly organised with Zone 2 RC Pongalo Pongal @ BBE with the theme "Care for the Elderly". Fifty senior residents from Bukit Batok East and Toh Guan were specially invited to the event. They were treated with great hospitality, food were served and goodie bags were specially prepared for them. Mdm Halimah Yacoob being the Guest Of Honour were there to welcome the senior citizens. There were tice cooking demo.The residents were entertained by multi racial singing and dancing performances.Bukit Batok East Indian Classical Vocal Music students lead by Mdm Gayathri made their first performance infront of an audience together with our guest of honour. Wishing all our Indian residents a Happy Pongal Day.
